friday link love

This weekend Mark and I are off for a couple of nights away without William.  It’s my first time leaving William overnight and our first adult break in over 2 years.  I am excited and kinda nervous!  William will have a blast with my sister and parents I’m sure although I imagine they will be glad of a quiet day on Monday!

A few weeks ago i was looking at dresses online and fell in love with this lovely navy maxi dress.  It was a bit different from the normal strapless, under the bust numbers I gravitate toward.  Stupidly I forgot to order it and by the time I realised, it had sold out.  Fortunately I bumped into it instore {and it’s back in stock online}.  Alas at the time of purchase we were experiencing the heatwave of summer.  Heyho.  I’m thinking adding a cardigan and converse might help warm it up a bit?

Last weekend we looked at sofa’s and starting talking away from the idea of a corner sofa.  Instead we’re thinking a sofa and armchair might be a nice combo.  We really liked the Walton range at Next, it has a nice post-war retro style but it really comfortable with nice depth to the seats.

If you follow me on instagram you’ll know that I am pretty hooked on the new iphone app A Beautiful Mess – it’s just lovely to use and I can’t wait to see how it develops over the next few months.

Blogger advertBlogs paying to advertise on other blogs isn’t something I support.  I’ve talked about it before, so sorry for sounding like a broken record player, but it just seems so far away from the blogging world I was so excited to join many many moons ago.  However, at the beginning of the week I saw Cassie was looking for other bloggers to swap adverts with.  I love Back to her roots and regularly save Cassie’s posts for an indulgent half an hour of reading with a hot drink!  It’s an honour to swap with her and I have to admit being pretty excited and proud to see my ‘advert’ on her site.

I have developed an awful habit of missing birthdays and events or just pulling it off by the skin of my teeth.  It isn’t good.  So naturally I have turned to my trusty list of blogs and am trying to learn a thing or two from some ladies who seem to make this organised lark look effortless and stylish at the same time.  Step 1 was ordering the household binder templates – if you enter iheartspring there is currently 20% off {unfortunately live after I ordered!}.
