2. my blog.
I have something which I am working on which is about helping, as a community, increase the readership of small blogs like mine.
Also, to help achieve my goals I’ve reading a few articles about how to blog I have been making a conscious effort to interact more with blogs. I have:
- sure I have replied to comments and commented on other people’s blogs {although some blogs make this so difficult!!}
- taken advantage of my twitter and instagram presence to try to drum up readers and encourage them to pop over {whilst internally cringing}.
- utilised the new feature from echofon allowing you to set-up delayed tweets whilst on my way to work and on my lunchbreak which then publish later on.
But I really don’t want to spam people’s timelines {if this ever starts to happen PLEASE tell me immediately}, but I have to admit it must have worked as looking at the high level numbers there has definitely been increase blog views. This may in part be due to me actually blogging though!
3. my home.
During the week I read this post by Emily from Daily Garnish and wondered how on earth she {heavily pregnant} and her husband had managed to get so much done whilst having no family nearby and a 20 month old. I re-read, made some mental notes and then briefed Mark. Now, I’m kicking myself for not taking any before pictures of our garden. It was a jungle. We had been doing the bare minimum as to ensure our neighbours didn’t worry that the area was going to nose dive and also so that we could get in and out of the house easily {as the back is our main enterance}.
On Saturday, during naptime, we absolutely transformed the garden and it is looking so much better. No additional plants but cut back and cleaned up it looks so much more inviting. Overall this weekend I have made a conscious effort to be active doing normal household things and have tried to pull things out for the charity shop, friends, eBay or the bin. There is still plenty to do but we are definitely starting to make headway! After all our hard work renovating I think we lost momentum. This weekend felt like a good balance between relaxastion, quality time and productivity!
