A little while ago I bought this as a slightly different take on a jigsaw for William. He loves it and picked up the concept really quickly. Basically it’s a jigsaw, but there is a metal pin head on each piece and a fishing rod with a magnet on the end. So the only way to get the piece out {apart from tipping it upside down} is to ‘go fishing’ for it with your rod. Then you have to put the piece back into the gap ready to start all over again. It is great for helping to develop hand-eye coordination and patience. The brand is Melissa & Doug which I see quite alot now but had never heard of pre-parenthood and was around £8 from Ocado which I thought was quite a good price given the quality of the product {it’s wood, oh how I love wooden toys} and the inclusion of the ‘fishing rod’. They also have a bug catching version which is really cute with a net shaped rod handle. Plus they are included on a 3for2 on toys under £10 deal at the moment.
My love for Ocado is growing with each passing week as their range of non-food items grows and the introduction of their special buys section is amazing! A couple of months ago I got a gorgeous super-king duvet set which is actually divine for less than half price. This week I did my order on Saturday evening and by 9am the next day my fridge was crammed full, my freezer replenished and I had 2 new half-price essie nail polishes {cocktail bling and it’s in the bag}, a new griddle pan {tefal, 30% off} and a paddling pool for William!
They, like Waitrose, stock a lovely variety of brands and this is similarly true for their range of toys. I also find their menu to be really well thought out {although not quite so good on their app}. There are categories such as popular with {yay for not dictating the gender assignment of a toy!}, age range, price, learning skill, brands and options {this is ‘on offer’ and ‘new’} which saves you trawling through their expansive range {we are talking over a thousand products!}

It is no secret that I am head over heels with Ocado. If they had offices in London or near my home/working from home I’d probably be telling them why they should create a role for me. My dream is to work for either them or Paddy and Scott’s <— not entirely unsurprising given I have a love of coffee and they produce delicious British roasted coffee! I have no idea what I’d do as I’m a Chemistry graduate from a top University {but not a great grade} who is currently working in a client service role, did work in an operational control role and also has a natural tendency toward project management, process re-engineering and people. I do also possess a rare commodity called common sense and attention to detail. Alas, incase you’re reading this and like the sound of me then drop me a line!
