I’m gonna wash that man right outta my hair!

Slightly odd product to review today but it’s been a game changer for me so hopefully it might help someone else.  When I was younger I had alot of issues with my skin.  Specifically my scalp was awful. It wasn’t dandruff, that would have been easier to try to deal with.  It was a sort of psoriasis type thing which was incredibly sore, itchy, hot and caused a lot of white ‘flakes’, idea of a girl going through pubity at a school who’s uniform was black!

Many treatments were used, there was one particular one which meant I had to have this digusting orange tar-like gunk put on my hair and left for at least an hour every night.  Needless to say it was a source of discomfort, embarrassment and plain annoying. Fortunately as I have got older it has got better and in general I can manage it easily, especially once I realised that too much dairy, sugar or stress makes it reappear.

Well stress has been a bit too present in my life recently.  Not the normal everyday type that helps you get stuff done but the type that stops you from sleeping, causes you to sweat more than normal and leaves you feeling drained. Soooooo my body went into it’s early warning system mode to tell the world that I was internally stressing to the max and eczema/psoriasis has appear on my scalp, neck, chest and stomach.  My scalp though was particularly sore.

 capasal therapeutic shampoo

Luckily I discovered Capasal therapeutic shampoo a few years ago, it’s like a secret miracle product {in my opinion} kept behind the counter.  I believe it’s a prescription shampoo but you can buy it over the counter from Boots for about £8 a bottle.  Honestly, I’d pay double that!  After using it 4 times this week my scalp is almost back to normal.  It has the typical coal tar smell when using it but it doesn’t linger on your hair and the formula isn’t harsh or drying like other treatment shampoos I have tried previously and honestly, I’ve tried alot!  I recommend you really massage it into your scalp when you apply it and leave it on for at least a minute or so if you’re using it to treat, rather than as a preventative measure. Also I use it as a showergel on the areas of issue on my body.  Not sure if this is what you’re supposed to do but it has definitely helped mine. My preference is to lightly exfoliate the area, then apply and again try to leave it for a little time. Then I finish off with a light application of eumovate {or eumocream if I want a non-steroid cream}.
